Through my background as a lighting designer and experience working as a Design Technology teacher and technician, I have gained the skills to work with my clients to understand their design requirements and aesthetic choices. I am also happy to share my skills if you'd like to learn some skills on the job.
Lizzie transformed my garage, taking off the broken up-and-over door and building a log and bicycle store. The bicycle is behind the log store and accessed by a door at the side and the whole is completed with a beautiful sedum roof.
We loved the shelves that Lizzie made, she gave lots of suggestions and guidance and was reallt thoughful and thorough about what worked. She advised on paint and finishes ans it was all cpmpleted really efficiently.
My background is working with recycled plastics, creating art objects, accessories and household items including hand bags and lighting. I worked as a Design Technology teacher, technician and technical demonstrator at Brighton College and the University of Brighton. I set up Lizzie Lee Lighting alongside my other work to create bespoke lamps from recycled milk bottle plastic, antique lace and other materials including copper and Victorian wood formers.
I built on my practical skills renovating my house boat in Shoreham and started up Bizzie Lizzie Handy Woman in 2020. Since then I have worked on jobs ranging from shelves to a composting loo. I enjoy helping people to make the most of their homes whether that be better organised storage, a window seat with a view or a combination of the two!
As well as many local individuals and families, my clients include Safe in Sussex and Higgidy.
